Yukon Apprentice Rebate

What is the Yukon Apprentice Rebate?

Rebates are available to businesses who hire registered Yukon apprentices on eligible Yukon government construction contracts of any value.

Who is eligible?

This rebate is for any Yukon business that employs a registered apprentice. Apprentices must be registered with Advanced Education.

Youth and apprentice rebates are paid in addition to the labour rebate. If an apprentice is also a youth (between ages 16 and 24), only the apprentice rebate will be applied.

How much is available?

The rebate is equal to 15% of the gross wages paid to an apprentice.

How do I make a claim?

  1. The apprentice must complete and sign the Employee Information and Release form. Contact our office for a copy of this form.
  2. Fill out an Employment Report. Identify the apprentice (for example, as an apprentice carpenter) and list all on-site hours for the apprentice.
  3. Sign and have a Statutory Declaration form notarized. This declaration must be completed before a claim can be paid out.
  4. Submit all documents to the Business Incentive Office with the signed and notarized Statutory Declaration.
